New requirements for powder transportation to U.S.A.

Due to new Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements for flights to the United States, from June 30, 2018, passengers are encouraged to place powder-like substances over 12 oz. / 350 ml in their checked bags.

Powders in carry-on bags may require secondary screening, and if the powder cannot be resolved by security officials, they will be prohibited from the cabin of the aircraft.

To reduce the chance that aviation security authorities require the disposal of powder-like substances over 12 oz. / 350 mL at the checkpoint and/or gate, passengers should place these items in their checked bags.

Certain powder-like substances may be transported in the aircraft cabin provided that they are cleared at the security checkpoint, such as: baby formula, medically prescribed substances, humain ashes and duty free purchases.

If the container exceeds the limitations provided, but the passenger refuses to place it in the hold baggage, the airline may refuse the passenger's boarding. Passengers may carry more than one powder container in their hand baggage, according the established weight and volume limitations.
