International travelers who are seeking to travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program are now subject to enhanced security requirements. All eligible travelers who wish to travel under the Visa Waiver Program must apply for authorization.

ATTENTION: As of Sunday 1/18 , all Green Card Holders will need to be fingerprinted. A separate queuing, adjacent to the US Citizen line, has been set up directing passengers to booths 26-29. A sign that reads "Green Card Holders" will be put in place to direct passengers.

Official language is English , which is a bit different from the English spoken in Great Britain. Being New York a cosmopolitan city ‘par excellence’, it’s not so difficult to find immigrants speaking Chinese, Spanish, Italian or French.

Vaccination and Health precautions

Compulsory vaccinations are not required .


On their arrival dogs and cats will be checked. All dogs older than 3 months must have had rabies vaccination at least 30 days before departure. Rabies vaccination certificate should supply information about the vaccination and about the dog. Dogs coming from countries were rabies doesn’t exist and were they have stayed for at least 6 months, do not need rabies vaccination. If a dog doesn’t have a rabies certification, when it is necessary, can be brought in the country if it has been put in quarantine for at least 30days and if it will get a rabies vaccination within 4 days since his arrival. For cats is not required any vaccination.

Electricity in United States is 110V. American plugs differ from Italian plug Travellers with different appliance should bring an adaptor and /or transformer.
